Description: Mawi’Art: Wabanaki Artist Collective Connections Residency - Résidence
Project I was curious about since 1994 but kept on the back burner. The idea is to capture nature's movement and convert it to sound. An example would be something like capturing a blade of grass in the wind on a 'Phonograph Cylinder' then playing it. AI helped figure out a way to process the information through video. First imagined attempts were 1- dripping paint on a continuously rolled paper, 2- hanging a lazer on a branch aimed at a thermal paper roll. I was curious to see if we'd hear a pattern, and if there would be one, if capturing the flow of traffic on the road would sync with it.
